On Friday Nov. 5, a WSU took a page out of Hollywood in order to try and end student apathy. The hacker, calling himself "V" after a character in the film V for Vendetta, hacked into the projection system in Todd and Sloan Halls.
The video message called for a revolution against the squirrels that roam around campus. However, if you visit the hacker's Facebook page or www.wsu1812.com, you can see the video and the message for yourself. The student also started a wsu1812 hash tag for students voicing their displeasure with certain aspects of the university.
If you have a free moment, check out the site and the twitter hashtag. Although we at Palouse Yourself don't support the hacking of the WSU system, the hope of ending student apathy is a cause we can get behind.

Basilio's Italian Cafe
Located right on Main Street, Basilio's is a nice, relatively unknown spot in Pullman. They have a great menu of authentic Italian food to choose from with nice sized portions and very reasonable prices. I had the Old World Lasagna and it went beyond my expectations.
They have plenty of pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads and other traditional Italian dishes to choose from. They also have a few Italian beers to compliment the meal.
One more note. I went in about half and hour after the Homecoming football game this year and got a table immediately. There is plenty of room in the restaurant's seating area and they can accomodate large parties.

Restaurant Recommendation: Sangria Grille
Not a place to go if you're trying to save a buck! However, Sangria Grille (located in Moscow) is as good a restaurant as you'll find on the Palouse. This is a great place to go if you want to make eating out your social activity for the night. Rounding up a group of good friends and sharing a meal together can make for some of the best conversation you can have.
Sangria features a fusion menu of food. Meaning they mix tastes and styles from South America, Asia, and the Mediterranean to make up their unique menu. The menu is diverse and features plenty of options: from burgers and steaks, to pasta, to chicken, to a variety of original Sangria entrees. The atmosphere of the restaurant almost makes you forget you're in Moscow, ID, and the service is on another level.
Despite the large meal portions, make sure you save room for dessert too! Sangria's dessert chef is one of the best in the whole Northwest. A good place to go if you need a somewhere nice to take a date.

Palouse Falls Brewing Company
Ryan and I went and spent some time with Jeff and Linda Greene at the Palouse Falls Brewing Company. The company makes four beers all the time, and compliments the selection with a seasonal beer as well. They're located at 1335 SE Bishop Blvd in Pullman and have a full-time tasting room to try their latest creations.
